• This is an experimental treatment to help patients suffering from perimenopausal symptoms, diminished ovarian reserve, failed IVF, premature ovarian insufficiency/failure, using the patient's own platelet rich plasma injected back into the ovary. This is no longer considered experimental in other fields, as it is already used in Regenerative Medicine, Dermatology, and Sports Medicine/Orthopedics as treatments for hair loss, chronic pain in joints and spine, and for wrinkled skin. Blood is drawn from the patient and then purified through centrifugation to concentrate the growth factors and hormones. That distillate is then injected back into the person's ovaries. There is different follow up based on the reason for treatment.
• IUI is artificial insemination (the turkey baster method), a process where sperm is washed and concentrated, then placed directly into the womb closer to the ovulating egg. It is often the first thing couples try when they are having difficulty getting pregnant on their own. It is also the process that same sex or single persons often start with using donor sperm.
• IVF is the process of augmenting a woman's natural cycle with the use of medicines to capture as many eggs as possible within one month and mixing those eggs with sperm in the laboratory. The embryos are grown outside of the body, in the laboratory. Couples can elect to start with this rather than going through the time consuming trial and error of IUI. This is also the process used for gender selection/family balancing. Gay couples usually use this process, and lesbian couples often elect to do this, especially when one partner does not want to carry, but wants a child from their own eggs. oshua J. Berger employ the latest treatments and surgical techniques to help couples overcome barriers to pregnancy.
Fertility testing usually refers to labs done on day 3 of the menstrual cycle to see how sensitive the ovaries are to hormones, AMH blood levels for egg/ovarian reserve testing, an ultrasound for egg/follicle count and to look for other uterine or ovarian issues, a semen analysis to evaluate for male causes of infertility, and a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to see if the fallopian tubes are open or if there is a large problem within the uterine cavity
LGBTQ+ Parenting, this involves gay, lesbian trans couples or singles that want to start a family or increase the size of their family. Often time this involves using donor egg, donor sperm, and surrogates to carry the pregnancy. There is also a growing desire for reciprocal IVF, where on partner chooses to carry a baby developed from her partners' egg. Our facility is all inclusive and welcoming. We help all people along the reproductive journeys to grow their families or preserve their fertility now in order to grow their families later.
• Egg Freezing is more technically a form of fertility preservation. The process is an augmentation of the woman's natural cycle to capture as many eggs as possible that month. Every month a wave of eggs become activated and start to develop, but only one develops best and ovulated. The rest get re-absorbed into the body. By using medications to stimulate the ovaries, we can overcome the natural process and make all the eggs that are ready that month continue to grow and develop so that they can be taken out of the ovaries and frozen in the lab. The good news is that we are not stealing a person's future eggs! We can only take what is available at that time. So, we do not affect future fertility and we do not cause a person to go into menopause early.
• Embryo Freezing is the same concept, except that we complete the process of getting the woman's eggs and then introducing sperm to the eggs in order to fertilize them. Once fertilized, the embryos develop in the lab and eventually get frozen for future use.
• Both processes use the same medicines, and both processes involve about 2 weeks of injections for the woman.
